Do you remember playing houses when you were young? Most children, especially girls play house during their childhood. It is an important part of development to play roles that will be part of adult life. Since the popularity of the Barbie doll, it has been a natural progression to incorporate playing with Barbies and playing house.
Mattel have produced Barbie dolls, Barbie;s friends, pets and accessories that make playing so much fun for children.
They love to make believe they are Barbie and enjoying her life and very varied lifestyles. Playing with a doll house is not new by any means. doll houses were played with in the Victorian era. However, there are many different types of doll houses today, especially those designed with Barbie in mind.
There have been many versions of the Barbie doll house that have come out over the years. Barbie's doll house designs range from simple to very elaborate house designs that have several stories and many luxurious extra features. Many of the modern ones have lights that work and even music that plays, a working elevator. and a working door bell. These more expensive Barbie houses cost about $200.
These Barbie homes come with furniture and accessories so that Barbie can live a life of luxury. The scaled down pieces of furniture are available in order to ensure everyone has fun. There are small cups and plates and even a dishwasher they can be placed into. There is a shower and a bathtub for her to relax in. Some even feature a swimming pool on the deck where Barbie and her friends have fun relaxing in the sun and cooling off in the water.
The designs of the Barbie house give girls plenty of room for their playing and enjoyment. They get to have wide open spaces on them from the backside so that they are easily accessible. Mattel continues to make changes to the Barbie houses depending on what is taking place in society. For example they introduced a friend of Barbie that was in a wheelchair. Some people complained that it was too wide to fit into the elevator of Barbie's home. As a result there were new designs implemented for future versions of it.
Although having a doll house is very popular for young girls, the name of Barbie attached to a doll house is a strong buy feature.. Purchased Barbie doll houses are lightweight but also very durable. They are also simple to put together. Most girls will get plenty of play time out of them.
Alternatively some people like to build a Barbie doll house themselves. There are many designs and kits available. Building the house yourself means that you can add unique features, customizations and decorations. There is also lots of choice in furniture, if you just want to build the exterior of the Barbie house.
The Barbie house will likely still be in very good shape when children decide they are too old to play with it. Unless the Barbie house is saved for future generations, these outgrown Barbie houses often will end up at yard sales or online auction sites for a very low price.
